LE SUTRA

We set a goal for ourselves: to take a tiny hotel on one of Mumbai’s busiest streets and turn it into something as significant as any other in the world. Several artists, designers, curators, philosophers, and visualizers were inspired to take on the challenge after hearing about it. What followed was a mammoth amount of study, with the team putting their heads and hearts into creating Le Sutra, the world’s first Indian Art Hotel, among many other works, rejections, and reworks. It turned out to be quite a voyage as we dived through time in pursuit of the elusive Indianness, drawing from a palette of philosophy, myth, an art form, and historic pride. We’ve attempted to integrate thousands of years of Indian ethos into current Indian art at Le Sutra.
